About Us

Fairlight Coachworks Ltd is a family-run accident repair centre with over 35 years of experience, proudly serving our customers across Sussex. Established in 1990 by Terry Burns with just two members of staff, the business has grown from a small shared workshop into a well-established, manufacturer approved repair centre.

Our Managing Director, Scott Burns, began his journey at Fairlight in 1995 as an apprentice paint sprayer, working alongside his uncle, Terry. Through years of dedication, hard work and a passion for repairing vehicles, Scott has played a key role in developing both his own career and the future of the business.

In 2017, Clare Burns joined the company, taking responsibility for the financial management and day-to-day accounts administration. In working together, Scott and Clare have continued to invest in Fairlight, strengthening every aspect of the company while maintaining the family values that have always been at its heart. Their commitment and drive has led to them becoming the proud owners of Fairlight Coachworks in 2025.

Our commitment to quality has enabled us to achieve many manufacturer approvals and build long-standing relationships with insurance companies (which can be found within our website). These partnerships now account for the majority of the repairs we complete each month, reflecting the confidence that both industry partners and customers place in our workmanship and service.

Quality is at the centre of everything we do. We have successfully maintained our BSI accreditation every year since 2014, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to exceptional repair standards, continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. Every repair is carried out using manufacturer-approved methods, ensuring vehicles are returned safely and to the highest possible standard.

As a family business, we understand that being involved in an accident can be stressful. That’s why we focus on making the repair process as straightforward as possible, keeping customers informed at every stage while providing friendly, honest and professional service from the moment they contact us until they collect their vehicle.

We are committed to continually investing in the future of Fairlight Coachworks. From developing the next generation of skilled technicians through apprenticeships to modernising our facilities and introducing the latest repair technologies, we are always looking for ways to improve.

Sustainability is equally important to us, and we are proud to have achieved ARIES Level 4 accreditation while working towards Level 5, as well as receiving the NBRA Greener Bodyshop Gold Award in recognition of our environmental commitment. By investing in our people, our equipment and our environmental responsibilities, we ensure we continue to deliver exceptional repairs, outstanding customer service and a repair experience our customers can trust and recommend.

With over 35 years of experience and a passion for continuous improvement, we remain committed to delivering exceptional vehicle repairs, outstanding customer service and a repair experience our customers can trust.
